Kobe Bryant (notes) and Raja Bell (notes) have had their disagreements in the past but the five-time NBA champ Bryant is putting all that aside to meet with Bell today and try to convince him to come play for the Lakers for the $1.77 million left in its midlevel exception, according to the Los Angeles Times. As Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski reported yesterday, the Lakers and San Antonio Spurs are the frontrunners to land the 33-year-old Bell, who only played six games last year for the Charlotte Bobcats and Golden State Warriors . The Spurs have a little more money that it can give Bell, and according to Wojnarowski, are still regretting cutting him at the end of training camp in 2001.

A "source close to Wade" tells the paper that Wade believes the Heat really could snag the talented triumvirate, but he’s going to visit the New York Knicks , Chicago Bulls and Dallas Mavericks in case that plan doesn’t work out

Hedo Turkoglu (notes) has clarified his trade demand, indicating he would be amenable to staying with the Toronto Raptors if the system changes as he expects it to, according to a report on TSN . TSN reports that Turkolgu backed off his desire to be traded, doing so in an interview with a Turkish sports site, sporx.com . Raptors general manager Bryan Colangelo told The Fan 590, a Toronto radio station, that if Chris Bosh (notes) leaves for free agency, which he expects him to do, it would lessen his desire to trade Turkoglu

Spears that he would like the head-coaching job  with the Cleveland Cavaliers regardless of whether Phil Jackson retires and leaves an opening with his former team, the Los Angeles Lakers , or LeBron James (notes) decides to go elsewhere. The San Antonio Spurs own the rights to Tiago Splitter (notes) , the current MVP of the Spanish League and the 2010 Spanish League finals. And the 25-year-old center recently made it clear that he is ready to join the NBA; he has no contractual issues in Europe to deal with. But money will determine whether the Spurs and Splitter are a perfect match.  The Spanish lira is worth more than the dollar now and the Spurs will need to offer Splitter a sweet deal in order to get the 6-11 Brazilian to come to America, according to the San Antonio Express-News

San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker (notes) may be headed out of Texas in the direction of New York sometime this summer. Parker isn’t one of the seven billion megatalents that become free agents this summer but the New York Daily News reported this weekend that Parker has told pals that he would like to be traded to the lowly New York Knicks . He averaged 16 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game this season and led his team into he second round of the playoffs before being ousted by the Phoenix Suns .

Charlotte Bobcats coach Larry Brown has made it pretty clear publicly that he doesn’t want to coach anywhere else but for new team owner Michael Jordan so the Philadelphia 76ers are apparently moving on in the team’s search for a new coach to former Dallas Mavericks coach Avery Johnson, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. Officials from the Sixers will supposedly meet up with Johnson after the weekend
