SAN ANTONIO, April 24 (UPI) — Danny Green and Tim Duncan each scored 18 points Monday and the San Antonio Spurs clinched the Western Conference’s top seed with a 124-89 win over Portland. Tony Parker had 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Spurs, who logged their eighth straight victory and tied the East’s Chicago Bulls for the NBA’s best overall record. SAN ANTONIO(AP) — The San Antonio Spurs handed the Los Angeles Lakers their worst loss of the season earlier this week, but that came with Kobe Bryant sidelined. The Spurs likely won’t get such a break this time with the Lakers star set to return from injury. The Western Conference-leading Spurs will be trying to extend their winning streak to six Friday night, but Bryant is expected to play for the first time in eight games and face San Antonio for the first time in 2011-12.
